FSA Report for 10/28

Minnesota – The weekly FSA report was aired on Thursday, October 28th. The updated covered many important topics that will assist farmers during the harvest season. Nathan Peterson spoke about the loan programs that FSA offers to producers. The first loan he discussed was the Marketing Assistance Loan (MAL) Program. Peterson explains the MAL program and how is can benefit producers.

Farmers must provide FSA offices with the section and township where bins are located. They must also provide information on the dimensions that the grains fill the bin, as well as the grain’s quality factors such as moisture and test weight. Peterson then spoke about the administration of the Livestock Forage Program (LFP).
