Erskine, MN – The City of Erskine is celebrating the Halloween season with two annual events. The first is a Jack-O-Lantern contest for people of all ages. This contest will allow individuals to share their spookiest art skills by carving or painting a pumpkin. Groceries Plus is hosting the event, so contestants can drop off their decorated pumpkin with contact information at the entry table. The next event is a Halloween house decorating contest. The whole family can join in to decorate their house and be the scariest attraction in the town. Green explains the rules and history of both events.
Green says the turnout for these two new contests looks promising. Along with these two events, a long standing contest is being prepped for. The Chili Contest in Erskine will be held on November 7th this year.
Contestants from the area are invited to attend and compete in the Chili Contest. Other events in the Erskine area include the Trunk or Treat, held by the Erskine Fire Department. It is on Halloween starting at 4 P.M. More information about upcoming events in Erskine can by found at ci.erskine.mn.us.
