Fosston, MN – Many people are anticipating the upcoming holidays as the weather continues to cool down. For some, this means preparing meals for family gatherings at Thanksgiving and the winter holiday. One occasion that can help a person get ready is Lefse Fest. Held annually, this event celebrates Scandinavian heritage. Ed Lavelle spoke about Lefse Fest and what visitors can expect to see and potentially buy.
By celebrating Scandinavian heritage, people can both learn and indulge in it. Lavelle says some also buy lefse in bulk to prepare for the typical large family gatherings during the holidays. However, the organizers are also looking for vendors, as their usually quota has not been fulfilled.
Lefse Fest will be held at the Fosston Civic Center on Friday, November 19th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. There will be taste samples from each lefse maker and a poll will be held for the “favorite lefse maker.” More information can be found on the city of Fosston’s website at fosston.com.
