Flu Shot, COVID Booster shots available for Aitkin County school children this week

(Aitkin County, MN) — Aitkin County Public Health and School Districts in Aitkin County will be offering flu shots and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID booster shots for 5-11 year olds over the course of a week.

In a release from Aitkin County Public Health, the clinic at the Rippleside Elementary in Aitkin will be 11am-2:30pm on Thursday, November 11th and McGregor Elementary from 4-6:30pm. The Hill City School clinic will be November 16th from 4-6pm. The clinic is open to only 5-11 year olds with parental consent. Parents are able to pre-register children online and can also register their children onsite the day of the clinic.

Children in this age group will receive one-third of the adult dose of hte Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, in a 2 dose series, at least three weeks apart.
