Mahnomen School Board to Conduct Special Election in February for Building Referendum
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen School Board will be going forward with a special election later this winter in hopes of passing a $4.5 million dollar building referendum. The board approved the resolution during their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, November 8th. The total estimated cost of the facility improvement would be approximately $16.7 million, but Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek says they do have funds in reserve to cover the remaining $12.2 million.
The proposed facility improvement plan would tackle a number of different needs for the Mahnomen School District, including updating the Elementary, cafeteria, parking, and more.
Another issues this facility renovation and expansion would address is updating the school’s severely outdated locker rooms, according to Superintendent Bisek.
And Bisek notes that there will be a number of open houses and information available to the public in the near future.
