The Clearwater County Historical Society is asking Individuals, schools, churches, businesses, and other organizations to write letters and messages of appreciation and support for our military, past and present.
Tamara Edevold with Clearwater County Historical Society talks about the “A Million Thanks” Military Project and how you can help brighten the holidays with a card of thanks for our service men and women.
The History Center in Shevlin will be open Saturday Nov. 13 from 10:00-2:00 and Sunday November 14 from 1:00-4:00 to participate in the “A Million Thanks” project. Visitors will be invited to write a letter or make a holiday card that will be sent to active, reserve, and retired military personal. Cards and stationery will be provided or you can bring your own. Cards be handwritten or handmade. Do not purchase a card unless its blank inside. The History Center will have sample notes to help you if you aren’t sure what to write. Messages should be appreciative, positive and upbeat. Tamara Edevold explains the rules to participate in the project.
If you are unable to visit the museum this weekend, the historical society will be collecting letters and cards to be sent to our military until November 20. They must be mailed before December 1 so they reach our military in time for the holidays. Cards and notes can be dropped off at the History Center in Shevlin Tuesday- Friday between 10:00- 4:00.
Founded in 2004, A Million Thanks is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the U.S. Military.
