3rd Annual Twin Valley Fish House Festival is this Saturday

Twin Valley, MN — While the ice is starting to form on the area lakes, it’ll be more than a month before anglers will be able to take their Ice Castles, Glaciers, Yettis, or other hard-sided wheelhouses on to the hard water. However, the “ice-phalt” is plenty thick in downtown Twin Valley and the Twin Valley Community Boosters invite you to their 3rd Annual Fish House Festival this Saturday, November 20th on Main Street. While they are common closer to the Twin Cities metro, The Twin Valley Fish House Festival is this region’s first and largest gather of wheelhouse enthusiasts held on dry land. Even organizer Mark Askelson says they started this event a few years ago to capture some of the fun of ice fishing, but without the worries of having to catch fish.

Askelson adds that for many people, this event may be the first time in months that they’ve fired up their heaters, generators, and other mechanisms in their fish house since this past winter, so it’s a good opportunity to test them out and also see what fish house owners are doing to customize and trick out their houses.

You don’t have to have a fish house to attend. All our welcome to come hang out, socialize, and partake in the festivities, which include a late-night fish fry, Grumpy Old Men on the big screen, 50/50 raffle, and more. New this year they are selling a collectible “Ice Pass” which for $10 not only helps support the Community Boosters, but also gets you registered to win a number of door prizes, including meat bundles, Buddy Heaters, ice fishing gear, grill, and more.

Guests are welcome to begin parking their fish houses at 2pm this Saturday and are encouraged to camp overnight.  They may bring their own beverage and food, and are also welcome to attend the Moonshiners Snowmobile Club Membership Supper being held next door at the Community Center that evening.
