Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their 2nd regular monthly meeting on Monday night, November 15th. Part of the meeting was a public hearing for their liquor store operations, which again showed a loss in 2020. While the numbers may show a loss, Mahnomen City Administrator Kari Kirschbaum says their situation is improving and the audited numbers don’t show the whole truth.

The council also approved resigning their policing contract with the White Earth Police Department for another two years. Administrator Kirschbaum says they’ve been happy with their service and discussed with them this week some ways they can continue to improve.

The City of Mahnomen is getting ready start another comprehensive plan and at the meeting approved hiring a consultant to guide them through that process. Kirschbaum says they’re looking forward to getting that underway.

And the city council heard and approved a rezoning request from Cameron and Debra Milroy, who are planning on opening a mobile coffee show and drive through along Highway 59.

The next Mahnomen City Council meeting is scheduled for December 6th.
