Mahnomen Farmer Provides Updates on Corn Harvest, Ethanol Initiatives
Mahnomen, MN — We continue on with our reports from the National Association of Farm Broadcasters convention today on KRJB. Coming up later today, we chat with Dave Vipond, a corn producers from the Mahnomen area and member of the Research and Promotion Council for the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. Fresh off of finishing his corn harvest, Vipond stated that while most yields for producers weren’t great, many were still better than anticipated after the summer drought.
Vipond also shared some of the initiatives for the Minnesota Corn Growers. He says their biggest focus is expanding ethanol usage.
While the administrations at both the state and federal level continue to push for electric vehicles, Vipond notes that its going to take some time to get there, and ethanol can be the stepping stone during the transition.
Listen to the full interview with Dave Vipond Friday at 1:45pm on 106.5 KRJB.
