Aitkin County Soil & Water Conservation District monthly update

(Aitkin, MN) — Aitkin County Soil & Water Conservation District manager Steve Hughes highlighted the year that was for Aquatic Invasive Species inspections, plans for this Spring, and more work done with a treasured piece of equipment with our regular monthly conversation.
Hughes first spoke about the hard numbers that showed the over 99% compliance for AIS inspections this summer.
The data from the inspections also aids the District in gaining financial assistance through grant opportunities.
Looking ahead, the SWCD is getting together their list of available plants and sales for the Spring.
Hughes also talked about special projects that the District has worked on recently with special videos and forestry work.
