(Minnesota) — The Northland Foundation recently awarded six grants in October thanks in part for the 2021-22 KIDS PLUS Youth in Philanthropy Board with the purpose of community engagement and volunteerism.

Youth in Philanthropy offers an avenue for young people to gain board and grantmaking experience with the Board consisting of middle school and high school students from across the area.

The Moose Lake School District was awarded a $1,000 grant going toward providing and promoting local art programming through teaching, designing, and displaying art works that are done by students, educators, and the greater community to show school pride.

Other fall grants awarded went to Rockridge Academy in Duluth, Proctor Public Schools, Superior High School, Parents and Teachers of King School in Deer River, and Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

The program received funding from the Scott and Holly Martin Family Foundation, members of the Northland Foundation’s Emeritus Trustee Group, and the Northland Foundation.
