Ada, MN — Snow or no snow, the Norman County Vintage Snowmobile Club’s 22nd Annual Vintage Snowmobile Show will continue on this Saturday, December 4th at the Main Street Bar in Ada. The event is being held in conjunction with the Old Fashioned Family Christmas Festival. There is no cost to enter snowmobiles in the show and there will be trophies for the top sleds from 60s all the way up to late 90s, according to Don Merkens of the Norman County Vintage Snowmobile Club.

The addition of the “classic” category, which includes snowmobiles from 1988 to 1998, has helped bring a new and younger group of snowmobile enthusiasts to the scene in recent years, according to Merkens.

And returning to the Norman County Vintage Snowmobile Show this year is the swap meet. Merkens says its been awhile since they’ve had one and it gives vintage snowmobile collectors a chance to pick up or sell of some of their old parts.

Also returning this year is the Chili cook-off at the Main Street Bar, which is open to anyone willing to test out their culinary abilities.

Bring in your chili to the Main Street Bar before 11 to enter. Snowmobiles will be lined up between 10am and Noon. Awards will be announced at 1:30. A brief ride was planned for after the show, but was cancelled due to lack of snow.
