(Aitkin, MN) — Preparing for the long haul of the winter months is keeping the Aitkin Police Department and Chief Paul Ryan after checking in with our latest conversation following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Chief Ryan was active last week with making sure the route was clear and vehicles were diverted for the Aitkin Fish House Parade.

Recent snowfall has also reminded Aitkin PD and residents to have clear streets for the snow plows.

Aitkin PD, along with the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office, has also put forth information and enforcement on school bus stop arm violations.

Given the time of year and when the weather can change overnight, winter driving habits also have to be at a higher priority, according to Chief Ryan.
