Great River Strings Orchestra performing ‘Home for the Holidays’ this weekend

(Aitkin, MN) — The sounds of the holiday season with local flair will be returning after a 2 year layoff this weekend with the Great River String Orchestra performing their Home for the Holidays! shows.
Composed of local musicians from the surrounding Lakes area, Orchestra conductor Richard Aulie highlighted the performances in Deerwood and Aitkin this weekend.
The programs will feature the classics of the season and provide attendees the chance to be part of the show.
The last 2 years have been hard on the Orchestra but Aulie says the group is excited to get back to performing.
Aulie mentioned that local organizations have also pitched in to help get these shows as well as the Orchestra to get back up running.
Great River Strings performs Home for the Holidays! Saturday at Cascade United Methodist Church of Deerwood at 7pm and the Butler Building in Aitkin on Sunday at 3pm. Free will offerings will be accepted at both shows.
