Land Rent Seminars Scheduled for Norman and Polk County
Ada, MN — The University of Minnesota Extension Offices of Norman and Polk County invite both land owners and lend renters to their Land Rent seminars on Thursday, December 16th. One will be held at 10am for Norman County at the Ada Events Center and the other at 1pm for Polk County at the McIntosh Community Center. Norman-Polk Extension Educator Heather Dufualt says the seminars will provide farmers and renters with the tools to negotiating a fair farmland rental agreement.
Dufault adds that the Extension Office and Ag Business Management Team won’t act as a mediator between the farmer and renter, but these seminars are simply intended to provide both with guidance and references.
Each seminar is county specific and there are a number of factors that determine fair rent prices, such as soil type, yield, or what’s being planted.
You can register for the Land Rent Seminars by going online to z.umn.edu/PolkNormanLandRent2021 or by contacting the Norman or Polk Extension Office. If there are not 10 people registered prior to December 13th, the seminars will be held via Zoom.
