The Fosston City Council met in regular session on Monday, December 13th. The meeting began with a Truth in Taxation public hearing. City Administrator Cassie Heide explains while the council passed a resolution setting an 8% levy increase, the actual increase will be just over 4%.

The council passed a resolution accepting donations received for the rock wall restoration project. The rock wall is located in front of the civic center and school on Highway 2.

During a Year In Review interview which will air next week on KKCQ radio, City Administrator Cassie Heide spoke about the council’s decision this past October to establish a city police department.

With the hiring of Dustin Manecke as police chief and Alex Bodensteiner as a full time patrol officer, the city still has one full time and one part time patrol officer position yet to fill.
