McGregor School Board receives good news on Referendum project, personnel

(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board went further into updates on personnel openings during their regular meeting from the High School Library on Monday, December 20th.
A Representative from Nexus, which is tasked with the Referendum Building project, gave much needed good news for recently delivered steel to the project.
Activities Director Bob Staska touched on a recent incident of parents attending away sporting events to facilities that have mask policies.
Staska did also thank the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office for the helpful this past Friday for the threats made to school based off TikToks. Staska also mentioned that the high school math teacher position will soon be filled.
Superintendent and Elementary Principal Brad Johnson touched on recent interest for the social worker position with the school district.
The Board approved donations from the Tamarack Snow Flyers in the amount of $500 for the High School YearBook, $1,000 for the Cross Country program, $4,623 for the High School Band Tuba, and Aitkin County Child Abuse Prevention Council’s donation of $1,500 for the Family Engagement Program. Approval was also given for the resolutions in support of the Congressional IDEA Full Funding Act.
The McGregor School Board will hold their Organizational Meeting on January 10th at 6pm with a Work Session to follow afterwards.
