Aitkin County HHS appoints HSA Committee during December 21st meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Health and Human Services Department received contract updates and appointed members to the Human Services Advisory Committee during their monthly meeting with the Board of Commissioners on December 21st.

HHS Director Cynthia Bennett gave recognition to the 5 reappointed and one new member of the HSA Committee.

Reappointed members are Dawn Houser, Luke Christensen, Michelle Broadhead, Lynne Jacobs, Steven Teff, and the new member is Rebecca Koch. 

In her Director’s Report, Bennett touched on the need for updating Prevention Services for children.

The remodelling project of the HHS Building has also hit a couple of hurdles as of late.

The Board of Commissioners did approve Purchase of Service agreements for Access North, Compass Counseling Partners, Lakes & Pines WRAP, LSS Guardianship, New Freedom Clinical Supervision, Woodview-Oakridge, Philip Tange, Presbyterian Family Foundation, Thomas Allen, and Cystrom. Approval was given for WIC Agreements for Bethesda Lutheran Church Malmo, Hill City Assembly of God Church, and McGregor Schools; as well as a Letter of Agreement with DR Donald Hughes and a Riverwood Healthcare Family Planning Contract.

Health and Human Services will next meet with the Board of Commissioners on January 25th, 2022.
