(Crosby, MN) — The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St Cloud Senior Dining Program distributed over 18,000 free frozen meals to Crow Wing County Seniors age 60 and older in 2021, which were record numbers this year.

A total of 18,764 meals were distributed starting back in March 2021 in Crosby before meals began being distributed the third Monday of the month at the Deerwood Auditorium. Distribution of meals will also continue their first two months of 2022.

During the drive-through, no-contact distribution, volunteers provide seniors with pre-packaged boxes of 10 frozen meals and sometimes bags of other fresh food. Seniors can also receive up to 30 meals in a month that meet ⅓ of the recommended daily dietary allowance for seniors. They are packaged in microwave and oven safe containers and are easy to heat and eat.

The next meal distribution will be Monday, January 17th from 11am-12pm in the parking lots of the Deerwood Auditorium parking lot.
