Minimum wage rates increase starting Jan. 1, 2022

(Minnesota) — The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry unveiled the minimum wage rates that will be adjusted for inflation effective January 1st, 2022 to $10.33/hour for large employers and $8.42/hour for other state minimum wages.
Large employers are classified if their annual gross revenues are $500,000 or more with small employers being less than $500,000 annual gross revenues.
Other wages adjustments include the training wage rate at $8.42/hour for employees younger than 20 years of age for the first 90 consecutive days of employment.
The youth wage rate will be $8.42/hour may be paid to employees younger than 18 years of age.
These state minimum-wage rates will not apply to work performed in the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, which has higher minimum-wage rates.
