Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Crow Wing County Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party

made the decision to move to contactless precinct caucuses to protect the health of

caucus participants and their communities.

The DFL Party of Minnesota created the option for the local organizing units to move to

a contactless caucus system, in which attendees participate Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, via

caucus non-attendee forms.

Information on participating in a local DFL caucus, including non-attendee forms,

resolution forms and how to submit them via email, can be found at

Each local unit also will have an in-person drop box for forms, open from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Regional Airport Conference Room.

Throughout Crow Wing County, caucus participants may submit their forms by 9 p.m.

The Crow Wing County Republicans will host the 2022 caucuses at the four locations in the county Tuesday, Feb. 1. All Republicans are invited to participate in these grassroots political events. Delegates to the county convention will be chosen and a straw poll will be taken for Minnesota governor in the upcoming November election. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the caucus begins promptly at 7 p.m. Caucus locations are: Crosslake Community School, 3508 County Road 66, Crosslake; Pequot Lakes High School, 30805 Olson St., Pequot Lakes; Crosby-Ironton High School, 711 Poplar St., Crosby and Forestview Middle School. 12149 Knollwood Drive, Baxter. The Cass County Republican precinct caucuses will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1. The locations include Walker-Hackensack- Akeley High School, Northland (Remer) High School, Longville City Hall, Pine River- Backus High School and Pillager High School. Sessions will end no earlier than 8 p.m. to conduct ordinary business required of the caucus gathering. Caucuses are held to elect delegates and alternates to the Cass County Convention on Feb. 19, to elect precinct officers, to make resolutions that may change the state GOP platform and for other pertinent business.

The Cass County DFL announces that caucuses Tuesday, Feb. 1, will be contactless with two ways to participate. First, DFL caucus goers can submit the Non-Attendee Form and Resolution Form, available at https://www.dfl. org/caucus/, electronically to CassCoDFL@ The deadline for electronic submission is 9 p.m. Feb. 1. Second, caucus goers can pick up, complete and drop off their DFL Non-Attendee Form and Resolution Form at one of three locations: Lake Shore City Hall, Backus City Hall or Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School in Walker. Dropoff locations will be open from 6:30-9 p.m. Feb. 1.
