New Gaming & Trading Card Business Opens in Twin Valley
Twin Valley, MN — There’s a new business in downtown Twin Valley aimed at providing youth with something to do and adults a chance to relive some nostalgia of their youth as well.
The Warp Zone opened this week selling trading cards, gaming accessories, and gaming passes for the thousands of video games available to play. The owners, Nathan and Carrie Dobmeyer, joined the Business Matters program on Wednesday to discuss their new business. Nathan, who has been collecting and trading sports and Pokemon cards most of his life, says the cards fell into place recently to turn the hobby into a mainstreet business.
The gaming room has been a big hit so far, providing a fun activity for kids to do after school as well as opportunities for adults to play the games they grew up playing. Dobmeyer says you can purchase hourly, daily, or even monthly passes that provide access to their enormous library of vintage to modern games.
Party packages are available too.
In addition to the cards and gaming, the entrance of the store has been dedicated as a space for local crafters to display and sell their goods for a minimal fee.
Dobmeyer invites everyone to check out the Warp Zone during their official Grand Opening this Saturday and Sunday, February 5th and 6th where they’ll have prize drawings, sales, and snacks.
The Warp Zone is located at 122 Main Ave West in Twin Valley and is open Monday through Friday afterschool until 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 9pm.
