Minnesota’s February Budget Forecast Released Monday
St. Paul, MN — Today is one of the first key milestones in 2022 Minnesota Legislative session. Roughly a month after the session got underway, the Department of Management and Budget will release their latest budget outlook for the state. The previous one, which came out in November, showed a roughly $7.7 billion budget surplus. District 4B Representative Paul Marquart says that budget forecast helps set the benchmarks for the rest of the session.
Once the budget forecast is out, Marquart says the leaders of the House and Senate will get together with their respective parties to set targets for a budget bill.
Representative Marquart joins the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program each Friday at 9am during the legislative session.
