A’s fall to Bemidji in 10C baseball playoffs
ADA, MN—Bemidji advanced to Saturday’s Region 10C amateur baseball championship game Sunday with a 14-1 victory over the Ada A’s at Tony Sipe Field. The A’s opened the scoring in the first inning as Braiden Fetting singled to drive in his brother Beau. Bemidji tied the game with a run in the fifth. Then the Blue Ox took advantage of three A’s errors in the sixth inning to score three times and take a 4-1 lead. In the seventh, the floodgates opened as Bemidji sent 15 men to the plate and scored ten runs with nine hits and three more Ada errors. The game ended in the seventh inning on the ten run rule. Ethan Opsahl took the loss for the A’s, giving up 13 runs in six and two-thirds innings…but only three were earned. Beau Fetting, Braiden Fetting and Brett Fetting had two hits apiece for the A’s. Ada will now play Dilworth Saturday afternoon in Bemidji in the consolation bracket…with the winner facing Bemidji for the Region championship. KRJB will follow the A’s to Bemidji Saturday afternoon with coverage starting at 12:45 and the first pitch at 1:00. If the A’s beat Dilworth, they’ll face Bemidji again at 4:00 Saturday. These games will be played at Bemidji State University.
In the consolation round Sunday, Dilworth eliminated Marble 4-1, Hibbing downed Roseau 6-1, then Dilworth eliminated Hibbing 5-4.
