DGF Rebels Fishing Team Fish Feed Fundraiser
Glyndon, MN — The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels Fishing Team welcomes all to support the team at a fundraiser this Wednesday night from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon. The fundraiser will include a fish feed, silent auction, raffles, live music from Matt Aakre, and fun family games. Micah Thureen, Rebel Fishing Coach, says there will be loads of fish to eat and a lots of entertainment as well.
The DGF Rebel Fishing Team consists of 67 students in grades 6-12 who compete in the Heart O Lakes Fishing League, which includes roughly 20 other schools such as Hawley, Barnesville, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, and New York Mills.
Funds raised from this Wednesday’s Fish Fry will go towards new lightweight life jackets as well as other team needs, according to Thureen.
There are plenty of different activities that kids can participate in, such as basketball, football, volleyball, and theatre, but fishing is a unique sport that provides lifelong opportunities for all students to thrive.
Regardless of whether or not you’re an avid angler or outdoorsperson, Thureen welcomes all to support this passionate group of young individuals and enjoy a fun evening.
Silent auction items include Adam Thielen autographed memorabilia, yeti cooler, hunter items, fishing packages, custom bean bag boards, wine baskets, and dozens more. A Lowrance HD Live 12 Fish Finder will also be raffled off.
The Rebel Fishing Team Fish Feed is this Wednesday, August 10th from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Buffalo River Speedway.
