SUMMARY:Project Linus Make a Blanket Day in Gary
DESCRIPTION:Project Linus “Make a Blanket Days” of the Norman/Mahnomen Counties Chapter will be held Thursday September 24 and Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Good News Church in Gary.\nProject Linus is a volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission.\nFirst, it is our mission to provide a sense of security, love, comfort and warmth to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade, washable blankets and quilts lovingly crafted by volunteers.\nSecond, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities for the benefit of children.\nQuilts and blankets will be assembled, for children in stressful situations at “Make A Blanket Days”. All interested volunteers are invited to attend.\nAnyone who would like to participate is invited to join in this fun project from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Community involvement is vital to the success of this event. Materials will be provided to assemble quilts and blankets. Volunteers are asked to bring a scissors for their use.\nBlankets and quilts will be donated to local hospitals, social services and other agencies which serve children.\nThe Norman/Mahnomen Counties Chapter of Project Linus began in November 2008.\nTo learn more about Project Linus, please contact Kay Oakland at 218-356-8718, genekayo@arvig.com or visit the website at http://www.projectlinus.org.\n
