Red Lake Falls, MN — The Red Lake County Rebels dominated on Thursday night in the 70-53 win over the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears to get to 9-7 on the season.

The big factor for the Rebels was their defense. Their defense on Thursday night made life hard all night long for their Bears not allowing them to get into any good offensive sets, continual ball pressure and on top of that, Clearbrook-Gonvick, a team that at times will live and die by the three point shot, had an extremely off night shooting the basketball. There was a point in the second half that Clearbrook-Gonvick nearly got the deficit back to within 13 but Red Lake County quickly squashed any hopes of a comeback and won 70-53.

Red Lake County is now 9-7 this season and has a big West Sub-Section matchup Friday night when they travel to Warren-Alvarado-Oslo to take on the ponies. Clearbrook-Gonvick has now dropped two in a row to fall to 6-11 and will play Friday at home against Cass Lake-Bena.
