VB Climax-Fisher 3 Fosston 1 (25-15, 15-25, 25-23, 25-19)

The Climax/Fisher Knights improved to 2-0 with the 3-1 win at Fosston on Tuesday night. Claire Erickson led the Knights with 10 kills and 3 service aces with Kinley Korynta pitching in with 7 kills for Climax/Fisher. Lexi Mahlen had 12 kills and Teagan Duppong 11 kills for Fosston as the Greyhounds fall to 1-1 overall. Fosston jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first set but the Knights closed it on a 15-3 run to win 25-15. The Greyhounds led 8-2 in the second set and went on to win it 25-15 to tie the match at 1-1. The Knights held on to win a close third set 25-23 and took the fourth set 25-19. The Greyhounds will return to action on Thursday, September 5th when they host Mahnomen/Waubun (96.7 FM). Climax/Fisher is off until Saturday, September 7th when they play in the Ruth Hayden Tournament of Roses in Ada. Fosston won the “B” Squad match over Climax/Fisher 2-0 while Climax/Fisher won the “C” Squad match 2-0.
