Morgan Eckes pitched a one-hitter, and the Patriots put together back-to-back huge innings offensively to take game one of the Mid State doubleheader with Crosby-Ironton.

The Rangers’ lone hit came from Bri Miller who led off the game with a bloop single. She was stranded at third, and the Rangers would have only one more baserunner in the mercy rule shortened opener.

Pequot Lakes scored once in the bottom of the first, then after a scoreless second, blew the game open with seven runs on five hits in the third and closed out the game with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth on just four hits.
