On Saturday afternoon, the International Falls girls hockey team hosted Detroit Lakes in a game heard on K104 and rjbroadcasting.com and seen on Your Live Event.com.  The Broncos scored first which coincided with their first goal of the season as Savannah Valentine lit the lamp just over 4 minutes into the game.  The Lakers would come back to tie the game at 1 and that was how the first period ended.  The Broncos would score 3 more times in the game, and each time, Detroit Lakes would answer back with a goal of their own.  Those Falls goals were scored by Taylor Burns, Brenna Crosby, and Havyn Pelland.  With the game tied at 4 and 3 and a half minutes left in the game, the Broncos were on a 5 on 3 power play.  A turnover in the Bronco zone created a scoring chance for DL and Madi Olson made no mistake as the Lakers would defeat the Falls 5-4.  Freshman goaltender Mara Pelland, who had 60 saves in the game, on seeing that many shots.

Pelland has recorded 60 saves in back-to-back games.  The Bronco girls will host Crookston on Saturday at 4:00.
