Drayton-Valley Edinburg @ Thompson

Thompson’s volleyball team came up aces….20 service aces as they swept Drayton-Valley-Edinburg 25-13, 25-9, 25-9 in Thompson Thursday.

Senior Clara Stevens and junior Josie Plain had six aces apiece as the Tommies improve to 8-2 on the season.  Stevens also had nine kills to lead the Thompson offense.

The DVE Titans stayed close with Thompson in the opening set.  It was tied at 11 until Thompson went on a 14-2 run to close out the set.  Junior Dru Schwab had two kills and two aces in that run.

Set two was tied at five until the Tommies exploded on a 20-4 run to take the set 25-9.

The third set was dominated by Thompson as Stevens had six kills to lead the way.

Thompson is off until Tuesday, Sept. 20 when they host Midway/Minto.

Drayton-Valley-Edinburg is also off until Tuesday when they play Larimore in Edinburg.
