Ely at International Falls

In a game heard on Lakes Country 104.1 and rjbroadcasting.com, the Senior Legion baseball team hosted Ely.  After a scoreless first inning, Ely got on the board in top of the 2^nd inning with 3 singles to bring in 2 runs.  Post 66 answered back in the bottom of the frame as starting pitcher Bryant Koenig led off with a walk and Torin Thompson came into courtesy run for Koenig.  Thompson eventually ended up at third base and then stole home for the first Bronco run of the game.  After the second inning, Koenig shut the door on the Ely offense as he struck out 8 and allowed only more 2 more hits and the Falls would score single runs in the 3^rd through 6^th innings for a 5-2 win.  Cody Joslyn continued his putting the ball in play at the plate as he went 2-4 and he says his approach at the plate is simple.

The Senior Legion team improved to 3-1 on the season with the victory.  The Junior Legion team played before the Senior game and a 7-run fourth inning for Ely was the big difference in the game as the Timberwolves won 11-3.  Both teams are back at home this afternoon as Rock Ridge comes to town.  Junior Legion game starts at 3:45 with the Senior Legion game scheduled to start at 6:00.
