Megan Buchholz commanded the circle and was perfect in a 14-0 shutout of the Nevis Tigers Monday Afternoon.

Aitkin opened the game with RBI singles from Ella Janzen and Kortney Lamke to go up 2-0 after the 1st inning. The Gobblers followed up with an RBI sacrifice fly from Lamke and Buchholz’s RBI single to double their lead lead at 4-0 after 2 innings.

After a scoreless 3rd inning, Aitkin put the game away with 10-runs in the 4th which featured an RBI single from Sophie Snyder, 2-run singles from bailey Gabrio and Alaina Hagesteun, and 2-run double from Buchholz.

Buchholz went on to retire all 15 batters she faced and collected 8 strikeouts in the complete game performance. She also contributed at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a 2B and 3 RBIs. Janzen and Ailie Kullhem each scored 3 runs.

Peyton Offerdahl took the loss for the Tigers by issuing 7 walks and handing 9 hits while giving up 14 runs.

The Gobblers have won 3-in-a-row as they improve to 8-5 on the season. Aitkin will host Moose Lake/Willow River at 12pm Tuesday, followed by a visit with Greenway at 4:30pm. The game against Raiders will be broadcasted on KKIN-AM 930/FM 103.1 and www.rjbroadcasting.com, with a 4:10pm pregame.
