Recap

The Fort Frances Muskie girls hockey team traveled to Dryden for Game 3 of the best of 3 NorWOSSA championship series.  As could be expected, the game had a slow start but the last 5 minutes of the first period had some excitement as Piper Miller scored on the power play with an assist from Kathryn Fischer at 15:07.  However, just 53 seconds later, Dryden tied it on a bouncing puck out in front of the net.  Hailey Bombay would get a breakaway a minute and 40 seconds later and would make no mistake.

It would be the Muskie captain, Tatum Glowasky, that would score shorthanded almost 6 minutes into the second to give Fort Frances a 3-1 lead.  Dryden would then also score shorthanded with just over a minute left in the second and the game would go to the third period with the Muskies up 3-2.  Fort Frances would take two separate minors in the third including one in the last 2 minutes that created a 6-4 for Dryden but Jersey Masson and her teammates would keep the door closed as the Fort Frances girls are the NorWOSSA champions once again.  After the game, Tatum Glowasky said they got the gold.

Winning goalie Jersey Masson said she gave it her all.

Congratulations to the Muskie girls.  The Muskie boys will try to duplicate the girls result tomorrow night at 7:45 at IFK Arena as they face Beaver Brae.  Our coverage begins at 7:25 on KGHS 1230 AM, 95.3 FM, and rjbroadcasting.com.
