CASS LAKE, MN – The Fosston Greyhounds (20-4) defeated the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers (23-2), 54-47 on Tuesday evening.
The Greyhounds had a lead as large as 13 points in the second half, but the Panthers came back to take the lead, 47-46, in the final two minutes. Fosston finished the game on a 8-0 run to seal the win.
The Greyhounds were led by Cullen and Aaron Nordland (17 and 14 points respectively) on offense in the backcourt. Seniors Carsen Boushee and Zach Theis both scored nine points each for Fosston.
The Panthers were led by junior Kaydin Lee with a game-high 23 points. Lee picked up his third foul with two minutes left in the first half, and ultimately fouled out with 1:30 left in the game. Junior Dominic Staples-Fairbanks and sophomore Kingsley Whitebird both had seven points each.
