Fosston 3 Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal 1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 25-13)

The Fosston Greyhounds overcame an 11-3 deficit in the first set and went on to win at Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal Tuesday night in Twin Valley (25-22,23-25,25-20 & 25-13). The Greyhounds closed out the first set on a 7-0 run with Tessa Manecke serving six straight points to end the set. The Titans pulled out the second set 25-23 but the Greyhounds would go on to take the next two sets. Katelyn Vesledahl led the Greyhounds with 12 kills as Fosston improved to 17-2 overall and 6-0 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Brynlea Mahlen added 9 kills and 5 service aces for the Greyhounds. Izzy Klemetson led NCE/U-H with 16 kills as the Titans fall to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Elise Tween pitched in with 10 kills for the Titans. Fosston won the “B” Squad match 2-0 with the Greyhounds winning the “C” Squad match 2-0. Fosston will return to action on Thursday, October 6th when they travel to Bagley to take on the Flyers (96.7 FM). The Titans will also play their next match on Thursday, October 6th when they take on the Park Christian Falcons in Moorhead. Both teams play in tournaments on Saturday, October 8th with Fosston at Perham and NCE/U-H at Mahnomen/Waubun.
