Grafton vs. Hatton/Northwood

In the lone Region 2 Quarterfinal that went past the third set the #5 seeded Hatton-Northwood Thunder upset the #4 seeded Grafton Spoilers 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 15-8) to move on to the Region Semifinals. The Spoilers would win the first and third sets in similar style with strong serving to build and early lead and take the set. The Thunder rebounded in both the second and fourth sets and kept the score close until they were able to pick up a key ace or kill to distance themselves for the wins and send the match to a fifth set. In the final frame this time it was the Thunder’s strong serving that built them an early advantage going up 12-3 before taking the victory over the Spoilers. Grafton end the year at 12-18 and graduates one Senior. Hatton Northwood moves on to face top seeded Thompson in the Region Semifinals on Tuesday.
