Red River moved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the EDC with a 38-6 road victory over Fargo North on Friday, September 30. For Fargo North Spartans, the loss drops them to 4-2 overall and 3–2 in EDC play.

Red River came out firing after recovering an Ethan Welk fumble. Sophomore quarterback Pearce Parks hit senior Quinn Nelson for a 19-yard touchdown just three minutes into the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. It was just the start of a big evening for Pearce.

He would find Hudson Flom on a 57-yard bomb later in the first quarter to push the lead to 14-0. Red River would add one more score, this time it was Brett Feller from 11 yards out, and go into half with a 21-0 lead.

The Roughriders would add a 40-yard field goal from Carter Byron early in the 3rd to go up 24-0 but North would answer. It was Pedder Haugo with a 32-yard touchdown run that put the Spartans on the board with 1:30 to go in the third quarter, 24-6.

Pearce would answer with two more touchdowns, one through the air and another on the ground, in the fourth quarter to put the final touches on the massive 38-6 victory for Red River.

Pearce ended the game with 209 yards passing, 17 yards rushing and four total touchdowns. Running backs Feller and Logan Okstad were the leading rushers for the Roughriders, combining for 130 yards on 21 carries.

Next week. Red River will play host to West Fargo Horace while Fargo North will host Devils Lake.
