International Falls at Ely

The Bronco softball team went to Ely to face the Timberwolves in an Arrowhead Conference game yesterday afternoon.  The game was a pitcher’s duel through three innings as neither team could push across a run.  Havyn Pelland started the 4^th inning with a single and scored on an RBI by Sylvia Valenzuela and then one batter later, Brooklyn Tomczak scored on a single by Hannah Anderson. The score would remain 2-0 in favor of the Falls until the sixth inning when the Broncos would bring 11 batters to plate.  Kale Taylor had an RBI double, and Gracie Swenson had a 3-run double as the Broncos scored 6 times.  The Falls would add 3 more runs in the 7^th as they defeated Ely 11-1.  Gracie Swenson pitched well for the Falls as she struck out 7 and her defense was superb.  After the game, freshman Kale Taylor said that playing 3^rd base for the first time at the varsity level was interesting.

The Bronco softball team is now 4-4 on the season and will have their first home game of the season this afternoon at 4:30 against Virginia.  Pregame coverage begins at 4:10 on K104, rjbroadcasting.com, and Your Live Event.com.
