Recap

The Border Battle between the Fort Frances Muskie and International Falls Bronco boys hockey team was played Friday night for the first since February 4, 2020.  The game was a back-and-forth battle early with both teams getting chances and some big hits.  The Muskies broke the ice at the 14:28 mark of the first period as Nico Ruppenstein scored and Noah McPherson made it 2-0 just 36 seconds later.  The Broncos answered right back with 35 seconds left in the period as Noah Shikowsky scored to make 2-1 after 1.  Over the next two periods, the Broncos would commit four minor penalties and the Muskies made them pay three times as Teagan Wrolstad, Jackson Tucker, and Taylor Chown all scored on the power play for the final margin of 5-1.  After the contest, Nico Ruppenstein says he felt his opening goal help set the tone.

The Muskies are now off until after Christmas when they will compete in the Fergus Falls Tournament.
