The International Falls cross country teams participated in the Section 7A meet at the Lester Park Golf Course on a great day for running in late October.  On the girls side, junior Abbi Hutchinson had been on the cusp of making it to the state cross country meet for the past couple of years and this time she punched her ticket with a 4th place finish in 19 minutes and 54 seconds.  Abbi says she felt very positive during the race.

Senior Dianne LaVoy finished in 33rd place and says she gave it all she had.

Senior Nora Sullivan took 51st place and says the Bronco boys team, who ran first, may have lied to the girls a little

Senior Bailey Herberg who finished in 62nd says the new uniforms made her teammates easy to see.

Other runners for the Bronco girls were 7th grader Lola Hall in 39th, Jaeleigh Carlson in 59th, and Loralai Ford in 66th.  As a team, the girls placed 7th with a score of 177.  Carlton edged Ely for the team title as the Bulldogs had 75 and the Timberwolves 76.

For the Bronco boys, the team took 11th with a score of 321 as Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin was the easy winner as their score was 33 to outdistance Moose Lake-Willow River with 63.  Individually, Camden Deedrick led the Falls with a 65th place finish.  Lachlan Reiners took 68th and says the race was fun.

Brendyn Scholler placed 83rd and says the team did amazing.

Head Coach Sheryl Hendrickson says both teams did well.

Hendrickson says its pretty exciting that Abbi Hutchinson is going to run at the state meet in Northfield on Saturday, November 5th.
