International Falls at Taconite

The Senior Legion Post 66 made it 3 for 3 for the week as they defeated Taconite last night by a final of 8-4.  The Broncos scored first as Tucker Hell drove home Matt Wherley in the top of the first.  Hell would go 4-4 at the plate in the game and score twice.  Taconite scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first off starter Joe Talmage, who then settled down and recorded 6 strikeouts in 4 innings of work.  Bryant Koenig stayed hot at the plate as he recorded a 2-run double in the third to tie the game at 3.  The Falls would score 2 times in the 6^th and 3 more in the 7^th before Taconite scored one run in the bottom of the 7^th off Keaton Maish who threw 3 innings in relief.  Koenig and Talmage each had two hits and a walk in the victory.  The Post 66 Senior Legion team is now 5-1 on the season and will host Aurora on Tuesday.  We will have that game on Lakes Country 104.1 and rjbroadcasting.com.

The Junior Legion team evened their record at 2-2 on the season with a 17-10 win over Taconite.  Two, 5-run innings for the Falls allowed the Broncos to open a comfortable lead.  Post 66 was able to take advantage of 12 walks in the game as Jake Olson had a pair of hits and 3 runs scored. Cody Joslyn scored 4 times and Torin Thompson added 3 runs.   The next game for the Junior Legion team is also on Tuesday at 3:45 at Scheela Field against Aurora.
