Lake Park-Audubon 14 at Ada-Borup-West 17 OT

The Lake Park Audubon Raiders and Ada Borup West Cougars traded blows during a thrilling night of football to begin the season.  Both teams battled to control the game.  After a scoreless first quarter, the Raiders struck first on a big play, turning a 99 yard drive into an 85 yard Touchdown from Drew Harris, the two point conversion was good and it was 8-0.  The Cougars would answer with a score three minutes later, a Cameron Spaeth 6 yard run, and the halftime score would be 8-6 Raiders.  Ada Borup West had a long drive stall out in the third quarter, then after getting the ball back, would take a lead on the first play of the fourth quarter on a Trenton Sip 2 yard touchdown run.  The two point conversion was good and it was 14-8 Cougars.  Lake Park Audubon would drive down and score on a Kaden Beske 2 yard run, but the conversion failed and the game was tied at 14.  Both teams had chances but couldn’t score and the game headed to overtime.  The Raiders tried first, and a fourth down pass was knocked down by Austin Mccraven.  The Cougars had three tries, then trotted out Tate Jacobson for a 21 yard field goal try.  After an attempt to ice the kicker, Jacobson’s kick was good, and the Cougars walk off with the Overtime win.
