VB Fosston 3 Mahnomen-Waubun 0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-11)

The Fosston Greyhounds bounced back from a loss to Climax/Fisher on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Mahnomen/Waubun Thursday night at the Fosston Gym .The Greyhounds jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first set and never trailed as they won 25-21. The Greyhounds closed the second set on a 12-5 run and won 25-16. The Greyhounds used a twelve point run in the third set to help them win 25-11. Miley Hove served 11 consecutive points in that third set for Fosston. Lexi Mahlen led Fosston with 10 kills as the Greyhounds improve to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Teagan Duppong added 7 kills and Ava Hayes 4 kills for Fosston. Olivea Ruschmeier, Isabella Schlick and Nelly Weaver each had 3 kills for Mahnomen/Waubun as the Thunderbirds fall to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Fosston won the “B” Squad match 2-0 and the Greyhounds also won the “C” Squad match 2-0. The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, September 7th when they play in the Tournament of Roses in Ada while Mahnomen/Waubun will play their next match on Tuesday, September 10th at Clearbrook-Gonvick (96.7FM).
