Mahnomen-Waubun 0 at Fosston 3 (25-16, 25-11, 25-17)

The Fosston Greyhounds used a balanced attack as they swept the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds 3-0 at the Fosston Gym on Thursday night. Katelyn Vesledahl led Fosston with nine kills with Tessa Manecke and Brynlea Mahlen each adding five kills for the Greyhounds as they improve their overall record to 3-0. Kendra Syverson led Mahnomen/Waubun with five kills as the Thunderbirds fall to 2-2 on the season. Brynlea Mahlen had two service aces for Fosston while Kendra Syverson and Cady Clark each had an ace at the service line for the Thunderbirds. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first set and never looked back as they won 25-16. It was another quick start for Fosston in the second set as they jumped out to a 7-2 lead and never trailed in their 25-11 win. The Thunderbirds did have an early 4-1 lead in the third set and led 11-10 before the Greyhounds took the lead for good at 14-13 on their way to the 25-17 win and the 3-0 sweep. Fosston won both the “B” and “C” Squad matches 2-0.
