It took double overtime, but the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds enough of a run in the 2nd session to get the 91-81 win over Park Christian.  The Thunderbirds played with great intensity in the 1st half building as large as a 17 point lead and would lead at the half 43-29.  The 2nd half would see less intensity from Mahnomen Waubun and more from the Falcons as they would start hitting shots.  the 14 point lead shrunk to a 3 point lead at the 6:06 mark and would eventually turn into a Park Christian lead at 62-59.  The 2 teams would exchange leads and with time winding down Mahnomen Waubun would miss the last second shot leaving the score tied at 70-70.  In overtime after the teams exchanged 3 point baskets Park Christian would build a 5 point lead with about 1:30 to play in overtime.  Mahnomen Waubun would come right back to tie it at 79-79.  the Falcons would have the last shot which would miss sending the game to double overtime.  In the 2nd extra session Mahnomen Waubun would step up defensively turning the Falcons over consecutively and getting point from it to build a 10 point lead and would hang on for the win.  Mahnomen Waubun is now 11-8 while Park Christian falls to 7-13.
