Mahnomen-Waubun 69 Win-E-Mac 80

Despite a 11-0 start and an eventual 17-3 lead for the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds, the WinEMac Patriots would chip away and get a 80-69 win in boys basketball.  The Thunderbirds came out hot from beyond the arc hitting their first 5 3 pointers to assist in building the early lead, but the Patriots kept their composure and would stick to the game plan chipping away at the lead.  The Patriots would tie the game at 24 before the Thunderbirds would hit shots to build the lead back to 6 points.  The Patriots would continue to dominate the boards and with another late push in the 1st half they would take their first lead at the 2:14 mark at 33-32 and would not trail again.  The Patriots would build a 9 point lead in the 2nd half only to see Mahnomen Waubun make a run to cut it to 3 but that was as close as they would get.  with the win WEM is now 7-7 while Mahnomen Waubun drops to 7-5.
