Early run support for Kendall Pillar paved the way for the Rush City Tigers’ 12 win in the last 13 games, ending in a 13-3 decision over the Aitkin Gobblers.

The regular season finale and Senior Day for Aitkin was hampered early by a 6-1 lead for the Tigers after 2 innings. The offense for Rush City included a 2-run double for Kendal Pillar and an RBI single for Katelyn Buehring. Aitkin errors kept late inning rallies alive for Rush City as they would go to score 2 runs in the 4th, 5th, and 7th innings.

Aitkin’s bats were held at bay with only 1 hit through the first 2 innings until they plated 1 run in the 4th with and RBI single from Megan Buchholz. Ella Janzen would also score in the 7th inning off a Tiger error. Kortney Lamke also added a single and a run scored.

Kendall Pillar pitched 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and struck out 8. Mackenzie Ribich scored 3 runs and Bella Folkema drove in two runs. Rush City improves to 15-3 on the season and will face Proctor on Friday.

Megan Buchholz took the loss in the circle after pitching 4 innings and gave up 11 runs off 9 hits and 5 walks. Aitkin falls to 8-9 on the season heading into the Section 7AA Tournament next week.
