Clearbrook, MN — The Nevis Tigers took it to the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears on Friday night en route to their second win of the season.

The scoring begin right from the opening kick as Nevis’s Joe Houchin took the opening boot 90 yards for a touchdown. Things didn’t slow down from there as Nevis took advantage of Clearbrook-Gonvick miscues, including two fumble recoveries, one in the end zone for a touchdown, and an interception as they lead at the break 49-0. The Tigers tacked on a couple of more scores in the second half as some of the non-starters go into the game and Clearbrook-Gonvick punched in two touchdowns of their own as the game ended 63-16. The Nevis Tigers are 2-0 to begin their season and will play the Blackduck Drakes in Blackduck next Friday. Clearbrook-Gonvick is 0-2 and will be back at home next week as they host the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers.
