Braxton Ehnert completed just three passes, but all were for touchdowns as New York Mills rallied for a 19-6 win at Pine River-Backus.
After a scoreless first quarter, PRB struck first as Andrew Volk hit Owen Dabill for a 57-yard score and a 6-0 lead. New York Mills responded with an 81-yard connection with Gage Brasel on 3rd and 13. The Eagles kicked the extra point for a lead they would not relinquish. The Eagles then scored on their next two possessions as Ehnert threw another 39-yard touchdown to Brasel in the 2nd quarter, then a 27-yarder to Hunter Bosman in the third.
NYM outgained PRB 287-155 as they improve to 1-1 on the year and drop Pine River-Backus to 0-2.
PRB’s Andrew Volk was 4/8 passing for 80 yards with the td and an interception. Eli Abraham ran for 47 yards and recovered a fumble for the Tigers.
